A large-scale producer of timber doors reached out to Ekamant with a dilemma. Having tried multiple belts from different manufacturers this inquirer had struggled to find the right solution for the challenging task at hand.
The sanding application in this particular instance involved calibrating door cores (Particle Board) which had a rather high level of contaminants (plastic, rubber & and metals) which would severely shorten the lifespan of a sanding belt in use.
Having understood what we were up against, we tested a set of belts from our product range but it was the Antistatex® belt (Fully Antistatic for reduced clogging) which truly performed above and beyond expectations. Delivering a yield far better than what this manufacturer had received in the past having tried numerous belts. Suffice to say it didn’t take much more to convince the customer to make the necessary switch to Ekamant.
I would like to thank both of my colleagues from Ekamant Sweden; Mikael Stein and Jan-Ola Karlsson for lending a hand during this trial. Their expertise in this field was truly invaluable and helped us in delivering an effective product demo.
If you are a manufacturer of timber doors and windows here in the UK, why not get in touch to discuss sanding applications and dilemmas, we would be more than happy to discuss sanding solutions from our end. You may contact me or our channel partner; Rhod Howcroft of Finishing Aids & Tools Ltd who are converting Ekamant belts locally.
